PROVO (AP) — Authorities say a roof on a Provo business collapsed under the weight of piled-up snow from days of winter weather.
Provo Fire Capt. Dean York said Wednesday the flat roof on the building that houses audio component maker Multi-Voice Radio gave way Wednesday morning after rain fell on top of nearly a foot of snow from the day before.
He says the five employees were in the building, but no one was hurt because they were away from the spot where the roof caved in.
York says the collapse broke sprinkler lines, flooding the building and causing extensive damage to the audio equipment inside.
Utah is expected to get more snow on Thursday – up to a foot in the state’s northern valleys and potentially three feet in the mountains.
